Captain Moustafa Kanafani
Director
Mustafa Kanafani is a seasoned Master Mariner with over 16 years of combined sea and shore experience, bringing deep expertise in maritime safety, compliance, and international regulation. His career spans service as a ship inspector for the Panama Flag, independent surveyor for bulk, tanker, and cargo vessels, and accredited representative to the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and IOPC Fund in London, where he contributed to the development and amendment of key maritime conventions and codes. He has advised Class NK in the Middle East, managed technical compliance and accident investigations, and worked extensively with P&I clubs, shipowners, and operators worldwide. Recognized as a thought leader in the field, Mustafa has been honored as a Liveryman of the Shipwrights’ Company in London, WISTA UK Honorary Ambassador, and recipient of the Future Leader Award at the Crans Montana Forum. His expertise covers ship safety inspections, claims management, policy development, and specialized areas such as the Polar Code and maritime sustainability, making him a highly respected professional in the global maritime community.
